Using the System

To use IRBIS, the user has to login to his account with valid credentials first. This can be done in three ways. One is inserting the email and password that are registered in the system. This will navigate the user to the Search page of his account.

Figure 37: Sign in page

Second is by clicking on the Google/Facebook icons where the user will automatically be directed to the search page. This can only be done if the user registered through one of these platforms beforehand.

Third way is by inserting the phone number that was inserted in the registration page. This way the user will receive a verification code to his phone. By providing the correct code, the user will sign in immediately and be navigated to the search page.

The following sections provide detailed instructions on how to use the various functions or features of IRBIS.

Search page

This is where the user can make his own personal investigations according to different workflows available in the purchased package.

Note: this page could change according to the type of package that was purchased and the available workflows.

Phone Lookup

This workflow is designed to lookup a phone number of a person through different social networks. These social networks include: Viber, Telegram, Skype, Whatsapp, Drupe, Imo, Hiya, Tamtam and Get contact. The results returned include name, email, address, birthday, link to a social network profile and more.

To make a phone lookup, the user inserts a valid phone number with the appropriate country code (or chooses a country from the drop down) and clicks on the ‘search’ button. The search will immediately start and show ‘in progress’ status. It usually takes a few seconds to minutes to show the status ‘finished’ for the user where he can click on the results to see the collected data.

The user can choose to open or collapse a search result from a specific social network by clicking on the arrow next to the social network’s icon. Each social network has a unique collected data. If the holder of the phone number changes any of the collected info in the profile of the social network, changes will be detected and seen in the search results.

Figure 41: Social network icons

By clicking on the icons underneath the pictures and the searched phone number, the user is navigated to the social profile page of the person holding that number. The user can also navigate to the social network profile from the search result of a specific social network if the result includes it.

Figure 42: Export file button

The search result can be exported to a PDF format where it can be sent anywhere by clicking on ‘Export Report’.

Hovering over any of the pictures in the search result shows the source from which this picture was collected.

This workflow brings the personal information about a specific person in different social networks. These social networks include: Facebook, Instagram, OK, LinkedIn, VK and Twitter. Inside each social network result, some info is collected from the displayed personal information of the person that has this profile. This data differs according to the social network.

Figure 44: Name search workflow

Executing a Name search is done by inserting a specific name of a person inside the name search workflow field and then clicking on ‘search’ button. The search will immediately start and show the status ;in progress’. The status bar indicates the progress of the search until the status turns to ‘finished’. Clicking on the search result will open a popup where the search results will be displayed according to the inserted keyword.

The user can also view liked posts by a user (if there’s any) and navigate to the post itself by clicking on the provided link inside a search result of a social network. The provided example is from a Twitter search result.

Post Search

Using this workflow, the user will receive a number of posts that have a certain keyword mentioned in them. Each group of posts is collected from different social networks. The social networks that can be used in the post search are: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, VK and OK.

Figure 49: Post search workflow

After inserting the keyword, the user is required to click on the ‘search’ button to start running the search. Figure 52: Post search results example 4

From these search results, the user can see the number of likes and comments on each post in the results from the different social networks that are available in the workflow.

By clicking on each post in the results popup, the user can see the contents of the post without having to navigate to the page of the post in the social network. The user can also check media files that are attached in the post itself whether it was a photo or a video from the search popup. If the user chooses to see the full post on a new tab, he can press on the ‘original post link’ which will navigate him to the post itself in the social network. The user can also see the profile of the person who posted the post by clicking on the profile link after @ next to the social network icon.

This Search workflow allows the user to get info about a person according to different search criteria. These include: Facebook Id, LinkedIn Id, Instagram Id, Twitter Id, Full Name, Password, VK Id, Telegram Id, Phone and Email. Using this workflow will bring the user personal details about a person like his phone number, email address and if possible his address. The search result also includes a link to a social network profile for a specific person whether it is VK or Instagram or Facebook...etc.

Figure 54: Deep web workflow

To use this workflow, the user has to choose criteria from the drop-down menu in the workflow box. Each criterion has its own icon to help the user easily figure out which criteria he is choosing.

To make a search in this workflow, the user has to insert some piece of information in the field of the workflow. The info inserted has to match the selected criteria from the drop-down. Then the user should click on 'search' to execute the search. After a few seconds to a minute, the status changes from 'in progress' to finished and the user receives the results.

Clicking on the profile link in the search results will navigate the user to the social profile of that person in a new tab. This workflow brings results to the user almost instantly. The user can also receive information about the gender, date of birth, and profession of a person by just providing one small piece of info about him like the full name or the phone number...etc.

Exiting the System

There are two ways the user can exit the system. One is logging out. This action temporarily signs the user out of the system. This means that the user can sign in to his account again whenever there’s a need for it. The user can do that by clicking on the person icon at the top of the page on the right and then choosing ‘logout’.

Figure 56: Log out button

Second is deleting his account. This can be done from the settings page by clicking on the ‘Delete Account’ button at the top right. This action is permanent since the user cannot access his account again without registering one more time using the same email.
